Many ladies have fallen in love with — or at least heard about — one of the newest trends in nails: matte. This past summer, OPI and Sephora by OPI introduced their matte collections with 9 striking shades collectively. But how many of these matte loving ladies are aware of, in my opinion, the creator of this trend? Enter Knock Out Cosmetics, developed in 2008 by makeup artist Mike Potter.

KO’s polishes are available in an ever-growing spectrum of colors: Flatte Black (black), Liberty (striking green), Ox (plum), Karen (red), Power (white), Calamine (light pink), and their newest colors, Pool (aqua), and Concrete (grey). Also available is Flatte Top, a clear matte polish that can be used as both a base coat and a top coat.

Knock Out Cosmetics’ products are available in Henri Bendel (NYC) and Kitson (LA / West Hollywood) stores and online at www.koknockout.com. Each polish retails for $19. Go go get them!
